What changed in plans and credits
CapCut's help center announced a new subscription lineup in spring 2026. CapCut publishes no public pricing page and says prices "can vary depending on your region, device, and available promotions", so the figures below are the US App Store prices seen on September 25, 2026. Our CapCut pricing breakdown has the full plan-by-plan prices.
- Standard is new. CapCut describes it as "a more budget-friendly option compared to Pro" with templates, creative materials and editing tools. On the US App Store it is $9.99 a month. CapCut has not published an AI credit or storage figure for Standard.
- Pro went from 550 to 1,200 AI credits a month, and cloud storage went from 100 GB to 1 TB. On the US App Store it is $19.99 a month.
- People who already had Pro were moved to the new plan automatically. CapCut says "your current monthly or yearly subscription price will not increase during your active subscription period."
- Subscription credits last one subscription month and are used first. Purchased credits last two years. CapCut's credit rules say every Pro member gets the same subscription credits each month, though another help article suggests annual subscribers get more, so that detail is unclear.
- The free 1 GB cloud tier was discontinued in August 2024, according to CapCut's own article, so free accounts have no cloud storage.

The AI features that arrived
Most of the year's changes were AI models. Seedance 2.0 generates short clips with sound, up to 15 seconds in 6 aspect ratios. TechCrunch reported that it blocks real faces as input and adds an invisible watermark and C2PA content credentials.
Seedance 2.5 is the newer model on PC and Web. CapCut's August 2026 article says it is for "Pro and Ultra members" and billed by the second. CapCut has not published details of an Ultra plan, and it publishes no per-second credit table, so check the cost in the app before you generate.
CapCut also offers a CapCut x Codex plugin that starts an edit from the ChatGPT desktop app and returns an editable first cut in CapCut. The launch date is unclear.
CapCut by the numbers
At its Singapore event on September 6, 2026, CapCut said it has more than 660 million users across more than 170 markets, publishes more than 400,000 new templates a day, offers more than 85 AI tools, and has 7 million people using AI features daily. It said further events are planned in Los Angeles and London later in 2026.
