Cookie Policy

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all (keeping you signed in, remembering your language); others help us understand how the site is used or measure our advertising. Hooked also uses browser storage (localStorage) for a few preferences; where that matters we list it below.
Your choice
The first time you visit, a banner asks whether you accept all cookies or only the essential ones. Your answer is stored for twelve months in the hooked_consent cookie. You can change it at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page, or by clearing the cookie in your browser.
Essential cookies do not need consent and are always set. Analytics and advertising cookies are set only after you choose "Accept all"; until then, none of those scripts load.
Essential cookies
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
hooked_consent |
Remembers your cookie choice | 12 months |
*.session-token, *.csrf-token, *.callback-url |
Keep you signed in and protect the sign-in flow against forged requests | Session / up to 30 days |
NEXT_LOCALE |
Remembers the language you picked | 12 months |
hooked_device |
Tells your devices apart so the studio can keep per-device state | 12 months |
hooked_impersonation |

hooked_onboarding_oauth |
Carries your answers across the sign-up flow when you sign in with Google | Minutes |
We also keep a few preferences in localStorage rather than in cookies: whether you dismissed a promotional banner, your creator/client mode, and which lessons you completed while offline. They never leave your browser.
Attribution cookies (first party)
When you arrive from an email, an ad or a partner link we store where you came from so that we can credit the right source if you later buy. These are set by us, contain no personal data, and are read only by us.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
hooked_attr |
First-touch source (UTM parameters) | 30 days |
hooked_src |
The email link that led you here | 7 days |
hooked_acq |
Marks visits coming from paid campaigns so we can adapt what we show | 90 days |
Analytics and advertising cookies (consent required)
These load only after you accept all cookies.
| Provider | Cookies | Purpose | More information |
|---|---|---|---|
| PostHog (product analytics) | ph_* and matching localStorage entries |
Understand which features are used and where people get stuck. Data stays in our own PostHog project. | posthog.com/privacy |
| Meta Pixel | _fbp, _fbc |
Measure whether our ads on Facebook and Instagram lead to sign-ups | facebook.com/privacy/policy |
| Google Ads | _gcl_au, _ga* |
Measure conversions from Google Ads campaigns | policies.google.com/technologies/cookies |
Our page-view statistics use Datafast, which works without cookies and does not identify you; it runs regardless of your choice.
Support chat
The support widget (Chatwoot) stores a conversation identifier (cw_conversation) so that a chat you started can continue later. It is set only once you open the chat.
How to block cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you delete or block cookies in its settings. Blocking essential cookies will sign you out and may break parts of the site. Instructions: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge.
Changes to this policy
We update this page whenever we add or remove a cookie. Material changes are announced to account holders by email.
