Midjourney Pricing 2026: Plans and Real Cost per Video
Midjourney starts at $10/month ($8/month billed yearly) for 200 minutes of Fast GPU time, with no free plan. A 9-second SD video uses about 4 GPU minutes, roughly $0.13 to $0.20 depending on the plan. The catch is that video is image-to-video only, SD on Basic, and there is no API.

Credits
What the credits actually buy
Midjourney bills GPU time, not credits. "By default Midjourney will generate 4 videos from each video prompt." GPU cost per video prompt: SD batch 4 = 8 min, batch 2 = 4 min, batch 1 = 2 min; HD batch 4 = 26 min, batch 2 = 13 min, batch 1 = 7 min. "Video generations start at 5 seconds" and each extend "will add another 4 seconds", up to 21 seconds. "Extending a video costs the same amount of GPU time as an initial video generation." Images use the same GPU time, and Standard and above get unlimited images in Relax mode. Extra Fast time is $4/hr on all plans.
The derived number
What one 8-second video really costs
The unit: one 9-second SD video, batch size 1, Fast mode (clips come in 5s + 4s extensions, so 8 seconds exactly is not possible). Plan price divided by what one output consumes.
| Plan | Cost of one | How we got it |
|---|---|---|
| Basic (monthly) | $0.20 | 9s SD = 2 min (batch 1) + 2 min (one extend) = 4 GPU min; $10 / 200 min = $0.05/min x 4 = $0.20 |
| Basic (annual) | $0.16 | $8 / 200 min = $0.04/min x 4 min = $0.16 |
| Standard (monthly) | $0.13 | $30 / 900 min x 4 min = $0.13 (SD). HD: 7 + 7 = 14 min = $0.47 |
| Pro / Mega (monthly) | $0.13 | $60 / 1,800 min = $0.0333/min x 4 = $0.13 in Fast mode. SD video in Relax mode uses no Fast time. |
| Extra GPU time | $0.27 | $4/hr = $0.0667/min x 4 min = $0.27 (SD); 14 min HD = $0.93 |
Heavy use
What 100 videos a month cost
| Plan | 100 a month | How we got it |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $23.33 | 100 x 4 min = 400 min SD. Basic has 200 min; 200 more min = 3.33 hr x $4 = $13.33; $10 + $13.33 = $23.33. Basic cannot make HD. |
| Standard | $30 | 400 min SD fits in 900 min. HD instead: 100 x 14 min = 1,400 min; 500 min extra = $33.33, total $63.33. |
| Pro | $60 | SD fits in 1,800 Fast min and SD video is unlimited in Relax mode; 1,400 min of HD also fits. |
| Mega | $120 | Fits, with room to spare. |
One plan, every model
Paying for Midjourney and three other AI tools?
Hooked Pro is $29 a month for 1,000 credits across Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Seedance 2.0, Nano Banana Pro and GPT Image 2, plus AI UGC ads, captions and TikTok slideshows in the same plan. Or pay $89 once for the Studio and run it on your own API keys, at the provider's price.
Same yardstick
The same maths on Hooked
Midjourney is much cheaper per clip: about $0.13 to $0.20 for 9 seconds of SD video, against $0.93 for 8 seconds of Veo 3.1 Lite at 720p on Hooked Pro. The outputs differ, though: Midjourney animates an image without sound, while Hooked runs text or image to video on Veo, Kling and Seedance under one plan, next to UGC ads, captions and slideshows. On Studio ($89 one-time, bring your own API keys) you pay the provider directly, for example $0.32 for that Veo 3.1 Lite clip.
| On Hooked | Credits | Pro, monthly | Pro, yearly | Studio, your own key | 100 a month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Veo 3.1 Lite, 720p | 32 | $0.93 | $0.77 | $0.32 to the provider | $116 (Pro + 1 × 1,500-credit pack + 2 × 500-credit pack) |
| Kling 3.0, 1080p | 72 | $2.09 | $1.74 | $0.72 to the provider | $235 (Pro + 1 × 4,000-credit pack + 1 × 1,500-credit pack + 2 × 500-credit pack) |
| Veo 3.1 Fast, 720p | 80 | $2.32 | $1.93 | $0.80 to the provider | $246 (Pro + 1 × 4,000-credit pack + 2 × 1,500-credit pack) |
| Seedance 2.0 Fast | 88 | $2.55 | $2.13 | $0.96 to the provider | $267 (Pro + 2 × 4,000-credit pack) |
Pro is $29/month or $290/year for 1,000 credits a month; extra credits come in packs from $19 for 500. The Studio is $89 once and runs on your own API keys, so you pay the model provider directly at their rate.

Read the small print
Costs that are easy to miss
- Each video prompt makes 4 videos by default, which uses 4 times the GPU time of a single clip.
- Clips come in 5, 9, 13, 17 or 21 seconds; 8 seconds is not an option.
- Basic can only make SD video; HD needs Standard or above and uses about 3.5 times the GPU time.
- Unlimited SD video in Relax mode is only on Pro and Mega.
- Companies with more than $1M gross revenue a year must be on Pro or Mega.
Honesty note
What we could not confirm
- The math assumes an extend is billed at the batch-1 rate (2 min SD, 7 min HD). If it is billed at the default batch-4 rate, costs go up.
- Midjourney does not publish the pixel sizes of SD and HD video.
- Relax-mode queue times are not published, so "unlimited" SD video depends on queue speed.
- The docs have a Free Trials article whose current status was not checked.
